Ms. Wattenmaker leads efforts in the CDC Division of Healthcare Quality and Promotion to extend patient safety data access from CDC's National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) to state, local, and territorial health departments. Utilizing her extensive background in healthcare policy coupled with undergraduate and graduate degrees in public health and health policy obtained from The George Washington University, Ms. Wattenmaker develops strategic frameworks, partnerships, and operational guidance for the extension of data access to support healthcare-associated infection (HAI) prevention and response. Additional responsibilities include collaboration with governmental and non-governmental agencies dealing with HAI reporting and regulation, coordination with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) quality reporting programs, and oversight of user support for data policy issues.
