Florida Department of Health - Franklin/Gulf
Sarah Hinds has been with the Florida Department of Health in Franklin and Gulf (DOH-Franklin/Gulf) since 2008. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2008 from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and a Master of Public Health in 2015 from the University of South Florida. Mrs. Hinds has worked in a variety of public health roles to coordinate community health assessment and improvement processes, strategic planning development, quality improvement projects and population-health grants in two rural counties. Mrs. Hinds became Assistant Director in 2017, where she focused on maximizing public health services and business management strategies to meet community needs. In June 2018, Ms. Hinds became the Administrator of the Florida Department of Health in Franklin and Gulf. She served as the local Franklin/Gulf ESF-8 Health and Medical Incident Commander during Hurricane Michael response and recovery efforts. Mrs. Hinds’ professional philosophy is to empower and train employees to perform their job duties to the best of their ability, and to represent the health department in the community in a positive and professional manner.
