Simone Singh, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Health Management and Policy at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Trained in accounting and finance, Dr. Singh conducts research in the areas of healthcare and public health finance. She was a co-investigator on the feasibility study designed to test the feasibility of implementing a uniform chart of accounts (UCOA) in state and local public health agencies, and is currently the co-principal investigator on the follow-up study, which aims to advance the adoption of the UCOA by 100 local public health agencies nationwide. She has also conducted related prior work in the area of public health finance, including studies of the costs and efficiency of public health services. Dr. Singh received her PhD in Health Services Organization and Policy in 2010 and her MA in Applied Economics in 2007, both from the University of Michigan. She received her BA in Business Administration from the University of Bayreuth, Germany in 2005.
