Regional Tobacco Prevention Coordinator/ Public Health Education Specialist

Tiffany Thigpen, MPH, is the Region 10 Tobacco Prevention Coordinator at the Pitt County Health Department in Greenville, NC. Tiffany received a B.S. in Nutrition/Dietetics and her MPH from East Carolina University. She has worked at the Pitt County Health Department for 2 years. In her previous role as the Community Health Systems Coordinator, Tiffany worked to incorporate ways to link clinicians and their work, with activities that could be incorporated into a community setting. The position started under the Obesity, Diabetes, Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention (ODHDSP) grant 1422. Under this grant, efforts were done across 10 Eastern North Carolina Counties. After the grant ended, the Vidant Health Foundation awarded funds for Tiffany Thigpen and her colleagues to continue work on Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention in Pitt County. In April, Tiffany began working as the Region 10 Tobacco Prevention Coordinator.
