Associate Director, Public Health
John Shean, MPH, is the associate director of public health for the Alzheimer’s Association national office. He is responsible for advancing the Association’s nationwide data collection efforts and enhancing the ability of state and local governmental public health agencies to address Alzheimer’s from a population perspective. Over the past four years, John has helped expand the Healthy Brain Initiative – a public-private effort aimed at making cognitive health an integral part of public health. Most recently, that work has culminated in publication of the guidebook Healthy Brain Initiative’s State and Local Public Health Partnerships to Address Dementia: The 2018-2023 Road Map. He earned his master’s degree in public health from the George Washington University.
