Dana Fields-Johnson, MPA, is a Program Manager at the Prevention Institute, a national nonprofit center dedicated to advancing primary prevention and promoting safe, healthy and equitable communities. In her role, Dana works to promote healthy communities, with a focus on strategies that address community determinants of health and multi-sector solutions that prevent violence, injury, trauma and substance misuse. She currently leads Prevention Institute’s team working with the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and 20 local communities to apply a public health and prevention approach that considers the impact of community trauma and social determinants of health on the opioid epidemic. Dana has more than 25 years of experience working in public health to address health equity, mental health and substance misuse, maternal and child health, chronic disease prevention, community safety and violence prevention, and healthy eating and active living.
