Dr. Dawn Emerick relocated to Oregon in 2016 after living in Jacksonville Florida for 25 years. Originally from the DC / Maryland metropolitan area, she graduated from Frostburg State University in Cumberland, Maryland with a degree in Health Education. Dawn is a two-time alumnus of the University of North Florida where she received her Masters in Public Administration and Health Administration in 1995 and her Doctor of Education Leadership and Marketing in 2008. This past December 2017, she was accepted into the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health’s Population Health Management graduate program. Dawn began her career as a chronic disease health educator with the Duval County Health Department. She crafted her leadership, evaluation, and health communication skills at various private and human service non-profit organizations in the North Florida region. In 2012, she launched Impact Partners, a national consulting firm that provides executive turn-around services, non-profit start-up technical assistance, healthcare community benefit planning and designing modernized local public health systems with an emphasis on equity in all policies. In 2016, Dr. Emerick was selected to lead Clackamas County’s Health, Housing and Human Services’ Public Health Division where she helped transform the Division’s infrastructure and workforce and successfully positioned public health as the Chief Heath Strategists. In early 2019, Dr. Emerick was selected to lead Benton County Health Department located in Corvallis, Oregon where she leads Public Health, Behavioral Health and Developmental Diversity services. She also co-leads an integrated, health department and community health center model called Benton County Health Services.
