Security Congress Abstract
2018 was a landmark year around the world for the protection of personal and other sensitive data. While the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gained tremendous notoriety for its depth and scope, largely lost in the discussion was its core principle: the merging of the disciplines of data privacy and information security into one called data protection. Data protection implicates a multitude of questions such as: Do we need a data protection officer (DPO)? What is involved in Privacy by Design? If we’re ISO 27k certified, are we okay? Do we need Privacy Shield? Should the CISO or the GC lead the program? In this interactive presentation, two data protection industry veterans will offer their perspective on these and many more cutting-edge issues.
