The board is the prime mover of an organization's strategic goals and planning. If our goal is a secure organization, one based on a culture of security, we need to start by getting the board "on board." To get them “on board” we need to communicate, and to communicate effectively we need understanding. This means approaching the board with strategic goals and objectives, not tactical problems. The board doesn't want to decide if Bitlocker is the right encryption, they want devices encrypted within the next six months, and will provide x dollars to make it happen. This session will help you reset your viewpoint so that you can motivate the board to be your ally in securing the organization.
