Security Congress Abstract
The latest (ISC)2 cyber workforce studies show the workforce gap continues to widen, in both skilled labor and insufficient diversity. The cyber workforce is not keeping pace with building a reliable talent pipeline to fill industry needs. How can we enrich our cyber talent pool starting with student engagement as early as kindergarten? This presentation focuses on successful engagement models to enable effective strategies to spark interest and attract student diversity early. In essence, students need mentors and role models. Finding the right engagement strategy can by challenging, especially when we have time and resource constraints. Let’s start a movement to remove barriers and bring ideas on how our community can excel to improve our student outreach efficiency.
