Security Congress Abstract
Managing security in a small shop has real and limiting challenges. Cost is a major issue as IT and security are viewed as costs that take funding away from “important” projects. Security is only a priority when the client is being actively exploited. This presentation looks at how to help clients escape the traps of crisis-driven security, moving to a proactive status, and keeping ahead of the curve without breaking the bank. We will delve into the role of the managed security service provider (MSSP), where it overlaps with the role of the Managed Service Provider (MSP) and how to educate clients to place them on a more solid security footing. The presentation will present real-life scenarios, and promote discussion of solutions and prevention.
