Oral Themed Presentation
State the overall Goal or Outcome : In a strained healthcare environment, leaders are engaged in an escalating search for realistic and robust solutions to persistent challenges, orientation of newly hired clinicians in an uncertain employment landscape, developing and maintaining safe healthcare environments for patients, preparing and developing complex teams for patient care, and seeking to leverage new technologies to personalize treatments and optimize outcomes. In this workshop we will guide simulation innovators to see how simulation programs can transcend the concept of “education provider” and become true clinical service partners—by transforming into flexible and adaptive “open-systems” organizations that embed within the hospital organization and rapidly adapt to current organizational needs, span organizational boundaries and connect important stakeholders. Participants will used the presented tools to model their own simulation programs as clinical service partners.
Intended Audience : This is intended toward simulation leaders and innovators who wish to improve the impact of simulation efforts at their hospitals.
Relevance to the Conference : This workshop offers participants a tested model (used in a large, world-class hospital setting) for increasing the impact of their simulation-based education and development work and is central to the interests of most conference participants.
