David Kessler, MD, MSc, is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and the Vice Chair of Innovation and Strategic Initiatives for the Department of Emergency Medicine. He is also an Associate Medical Director for the Mary & Michael Jaharis Simulation Center. As a founder and director for INSPIRE, (International Network for Simulation-based Pediatric Innovation, Research and Education) Dr. Kessler is committed to growing a community of practice dedicated to collaboration, mentorship, and scholarship.
David’s main academic interest is in leveraging and studying new technology to improve safety and enhance the quality of patient care. He has lead several grant-funded, multi-center studies and has experience with publishing both clinical and education research. Specific areas of interest include point-of-care ultrasound, healthcare simulation, resuscitation science, skill-training, and serious games.
