Associate Medical Director of Simulation, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics

Dr. Kasey Davis is the Associate Medical Director of Simulation for Texas Children’s Hospital -The Woodlands and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Critical Care Division of Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Davis is a graduate of the pediatric residency and pediatric critical care fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and decided to pursue a career in simulation after participating in simulation with Dr. Nancy Tofil and Dr. Marjorie Lee White. She joined the faculty of Children’s Mercy Hospital as the PICU Simulation Director in 2012. While at Children’s Mercy, she revised the simulation based “fellow bootcamp” curriculum, organized systems testing of the hospital’s ebola response, and led numerous simulation based educational activities for medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, staff, transport, as well as implementing mock codes. She joined the faculty of
the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2015 and created and implemented a resuscitation curriculum for pediatric residents, facilitated monthly mock codes, and taught a hospital wide ultrasound guided central venous access course. Dr. Davis returned home to Texas in 2017. As the Associate Medical Director for Simulation at The Woodlands campus, she is responsible for all simulation based activities including numerous simulation based clinical systems testing projects as the hospital expands its scope of practice. She is a TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer and teaches a simulation based course at The Woodlands campus. She also attended the first Alda Medical Experience: Connect to Care in 2018. She is piloting new educational formats for rapid dissemination of material and is interested in the connection between simulation and applied improvisation.
