Dr Esteban C. Nannini is Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases at the School of Medicine of the National University of Rosario (UNR), Argentina. He serves as an Adult Infectious Diseases consultant at two private hospitals and he is also an Independent Researcher at the National Council of Science and Technological Research (CONICET), Institute IDICER, Rosario, Argentina.
Dr Nannini completed his Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University of Texas – Houston McGovern Medical School under the mentorship of Professor Dr Barbara E. Murray where he started a research pathway and interested focus on Gram positive infections. In particular, he has devoted research time to the clinical and experimental impact of ß-lactamases produced by methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus strains and the cephalosporins inoculum effect phenomenon. He published in this and other topics in peer-reviewed journals and he has been the coauthor of relevant antibiotics chapter in recognized infectious diseases books such as Mandell, Douglas, and Bennett's Principles and Practice of Infectious Diseases.
