Coaching is not therapy. Coaching clients are assumed as mentally healthy and able to engage in the coaching process, but what actually do you as a coach know about mental health within coaching practice? How do coaches make sense of mental health within their coaching practice? Are you able to recognize your clients' symptoms of poor mental health before it's too late? This session highlights the research findings from an MSc level piece of research exploring these questions. An incredibly topical and important piece of new research, offering some in-depth detailed findings from coaches around the globe. Drawing upon the ICF guidelines “Referring a Client to Therapy” to discover if coaches are able to recognize the symptoms of poor mental health, what this means for the progression of the coaching profession and the challenges mental health brings to coaching practice.
