Arts and Culture
As part of Korea-Japan Artistic Relationship with Europe, I will focus on the big cultural event Japonisme 2018 which held from July 2018 to February 2019 in Ile de France. Through Art exhibitions and theater, dance, music, both traditional and modern and contemporary, the Japanese organisers wanted to show that Japan is not anymore a traditional culture but also a leader in avant-garde art as the A.I influence on art. Moreover, Japonisme 2018 was a new way to explain what is traditional art in including the presence of Ainous, the first populations living in Japan, colonized during centuries and which nearly disappeared in the end of 19th century. The 1986-87 exhibition held in Pompidou Center national Museum of Art le Japon des avant-gardes shows also the integration of Japanese modern and contemporary Art in world Art history.
Finally, I evoke Korean artist Lee Ufan as a representative of the new Korean-Japanese influence in Europe since the end of 1990, specially with his 2014 exhibition in Versailles Palace. One of his installation was exhibited in Fukami exhibition which held in Rotschild Hotel near Champs Elysees in July and August 2018.
