In the past 25 years the International Institute for Asia Studies (IIAS) has published more than 150 monographs and edited volumes in cooperation with different publishers such as Kegan Paul International, Curzon Press, Brill Publishers and ISEAS Press to name but a few. As of 2005 nearly all publications are published by Amsterdam University Press (AUP). From 2006 to 2014 nearly 50 publications, both monographs and edited volumes, saw the day of light in the IIAS Series and ICAS Series under the general editorship of Paul van der Velde. These series were based on the inputs of IIAS fellows and participants in ICAS respectively and the volumes published in it were a reflection of the rich diversity of Asian studies.
In 2015 these series were discontinued and three new series were put in place which were in line with the main research interests of IIAS, namely Global Asia, Asian Cities and Asian Heritages. International Editorial boards were set up and in past four years 25 monographs and edited volumes were published. It is time to take stock. The series editors will present their series and inform us about future plans while the Asia AUP editor will show which role they play in the Asia studies publication strategy of AUP. Needless to say, several new books will be launched during this meeting and chances are that a new series will be presented.
