IASIU 2019 Seminar & Expo on Insurance Fraud
What are you looking at? - The issues related to virtual inspections and how to overcome them.
Insurers are moving towards virtual inspections but do they believe the content that is being received back? Virtual inspections generally provide a lower cost, lower touch and quicker method to obtain evidence from a customer – whether in an auto accident, house fire, accidental damage to a bike or piece of furniture, and for underwriting inspections for high value jewelry or one of many other examples – however in 2019 is it possible to believe what is being received? From thousands of GPS location manipulation apps to a growing number of applications that allow you to easily edit your photo, for example adding damage to a windshield that looks as realistic as a real crack.
Can you be certain that an insured isn’t simply taking a high resolution photograph of a 4K or 8K computer screen?
This is a wider issue at a global level, and we will touch on this. In the modern day world we are often presented with the term ‘fake news’ and we question whether we can trust an image that has been taken and presented to us. Was it taken where we were told it was? Does it actually show me what I want to see? With easier online image manipulation this has become a far bigger issue over the past year.
During the presentation we will use some practical examples to show where these two worlds align, or collide!
"Dan uses a good mixture of wit and humor and delivers his message very effectively. He was a pleasure to work with and I look forward our future interactions and training opportunities. If you’re looking for a dynamic speaker to provide training I wholeheartedly recommend Dan Gumpright."
"If this class is offered again, I would suggest attending. Dan is clearly passionate about insurance fraud and this is demonstrated in his presentation. The information presented was not driven by a sales pitch, but focused on educating the audience on benefits of capturing data giving the immediate takeaways to implement upon returning home."
"I had the pleasure to attend Dan's seminar on Fraud Detection and found it to be one of the more interesting topics available at IASIU2018, especially as it related to social media. Dan provided tremendous value to those in attendance and would be an asset to any conference looking for speakers."
