James T. Rosenbaum, M.D. is chair of the division of Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases, Oregon Health and Science University, in Portland and concurrently Richard Chenoweth Chair of Ophthalmology at the Legacy Devers Eye Institute also in Portland. He is a Professor of Ophthalmology, Medicine, and Cell Biology and holds the Edward E Rosenbaum chair for inflammation research at OHSU. He is the author of more than 500 publications dealing mostly with aspects of ocular inflammation. His first authored work has appeared in Science, Nature, New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, and The New Yorker online. He is believed to be the only practicing rheumatologist in the world to also chair a department of ophthalmology. He has received honors from the American College of Rheumatology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the International Uveitis Study Group Foundation.
