Diana Schunn serves as the Executive Director of the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County (CACSC) since 2008. Diana is a graduate from Bethel College where she received her BSN. She has practiced nursing in a post-surgery floor, the Emergency Department and in death investigations and forensic nursing. Prior to her appointment with the Child Advocacy Center, Diana served as the Director of the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner/Sexual Assault Response Team (SANE/SART) Program at Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas for 15 years. Diana has testified in criminal cases at the district, state and federal levels. She provides consultation and testimony for prosecution and defense counsel.
Diana sat on the original test writing groups for both the SANE-A and SANE-P certification examinations. She has served on the SANE Education Guidelines Review Committee and served as the chair in 2006. Diana helped serve on the medial working group for the U.S. Department of justice in the development of the first National Protocol for pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examinations published in 2016. She served for 2 years on the Commission for Forensic Nursing Certification, Renewal/Audit Committee.
