Anne Troy has worked in pediatric forensics for over ten years. As a healthcare provider in child maltreatment , Dr. Troy has evaluated over 3000 children due to allegations of child abuse. She has testified in criminal courts over 100 times throughout the south including the states of Virginia, Mississippi and Texas. Dr. Troy is also a full time Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans. Her responsibilities include teaching forensics and mental health in the community. Presently Dr. Troy is a co-investigator on an IRB approved study with Canadian forensic nurse scientist Dr. Cathy Carter-Snell on Gender Based Violence after natural disasters. Their research findings will be presented in Rome 2019.
Dr. Troy successfully defended her dissertation work on the role of Adverse Childhood Experiences on nurses' ability to sustain compassion satisfaction May 2019.These finding will be presented in Rome as well, at the International Academy of Law and Mental Health. Dr. Troy is committed to the ethical duty of nurses to self care and to their having the ability to provide trauma informed care as a result of this insight.
