Eileen Allen is a Registered nurse with more than 25 years experience as a Forensic Nurse Examiner and Educator in the field of Forensic Nursing. She is certified by the State of New Jersey Board of Nursing and by the FNCB as both a SANE-A and SANE-P. She has coordinated a New Jersey based county-wide FNE/SART Program for 25 years, overseeing 5 hospital based exam sites, and training and supervising 20 FNE Contractors. The Monmouth County FNE Program provides services for Sexual Assault and Strangulation/Smothering victims across the lifespan, as well as death pronouncement services.
Ms. Allen is an adjunct faculty member at Monmouth University in New Jersey, teaching the Sexual Assault Examiner Course, Clinical Skills Workshops for FNEs, as well as graduate courses in Forensic Pathology, Interpersonal Violence and Issues in Forensic Nursing. Additionally, she supervises Capstone Clinical Practicum and Seminar projects. She has participated in several federally funded research projects and has served as a state and federal level grant application reviewer.
Eileen Allen is a long-time member of IAFN and has served on the FNCB and Board of Directors, and is also a founding member of the Academy of Forensic Nursing. She has lectured extensively for regional, national and international audiences on a range of Forensic Nursing-related topics as well as SANE Program Development and Operations. She has provided mentorship and support at many levels of Forensic Nursing program practice and administration to nurses and other professionals around the globe.
