Weil Cornell Medical College
Majid Maybody, MD, Associate Member, Interventiona Radiology Service, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, USA.
I studied medicine at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (Iran) and finished radiology residency training at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. I completed my interventional radiology fellowship training at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I have been practicing since 2005 and have been at MSKCC since 2007.
I treat a wide variety of diseases within interventional oncology field and have a primary interest in musculoskeletal interventions and medical navigation. My research interests are aimed at improving the outcomes of image-guided interventions, with a focus on accuracy and safety. I am particularly interested in improving existing image-guided techniques and developing new ones. For example, I led a large clinical trial on effectiveness of autologous blood patch injection compared to hydrogel tract sealant in image-guided needle biopsies of the lung.
I also direct the interventional radiology training program. This includes the interventional radiology fellowship program. I am involved in training medical students, radiology residents, interventional radiology and interventional oncology fellows, and visiting investigators.
Working at MSK is especially rewarding to me because it puts me at the forefront of innovations for patients with cancer.
