90th FVMA Annual Conference
There are numerous developmental diseases of the elbow: fragmented coronoid process (FCP), osteochondritis dissecans (OCD), ununited anconeal process (UAP), incomplete ossification of the humeral condyle (IOHC) and radioulnar incongruity. While some of these diseases can remain subclinical, elbow abnormalities often lead to chronic progressive lameness. Early recognition may allow for early intervention and significantly mitigate long-term clinical signs. Early detection of many elbow diseases is possible with plain radiography alone. The purpose of this presentation is to discuss each of these conditions, specifically with respect to early diagnosis and early intervention.
