Recent research is showing a strong link between heart health and financial health. Much of it is related to financial stress. Planners are in the best position to help reduce the stress related to finances for both financially secure and financially insecure clients. The American Heart Association has joined together with FPA members Carol Craigie, CFP and Catalina Franco-Cicero, CFP to bring this important message to FPA members. Topics to be discussed include recent research on the impact of finances on health, communication techniques and strategies to help reduce client stress, the role of charitable activities on client well-being and trends along with specific benefits including tax consequences of the current charitable strategies.
