As the profession of financial planning continues to evolve so has the commitment to academic research, providing rigorous, peer-reviewed research on which we can base the advice we deliver. Pioneered by the Journal of Financial Planning and FPA, there are now 3 other research journals dedicated to financial planning - the Financial Services Review by the Academy of Financial Services, the Financial Planning Research Journal by FPA Australia and the CFP Board's Financial Planning Review. This session brings together award- winning international researchers from three of these publications. Each will provide a short summary of their work and discuss its relevance and application in the everyday practice of financial planning. The panel will then explore how academics and practitioners can collaborate more effectively in targeting research that is key to solving the ongoing problems facing financial planners.
