The Emory Practical Intervention Course – Southeast Consortium (EPIC-SEC) held in April 2018 was extremely successful with exciting live coronary, structural and peripheral cases, and vibrant discussions by engaged attendees, faculty, alumni and cardiology fellows. EPIC-SEC 2019 will be held at the Emory Conference Center Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 2-4, 2019.
Twenty-one academic medical centers from the Southern United States have joined together to build a continuing medical education platform for Cardiovascular Medicine. The idea behind this consortium is to have a very large network of interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery colleagues specializing in coronary, structural and/or peripheral disease who face similar challenges and have opportunities to further enhance the care of their patients, mentor and train future generations of cardiovascular specialists, and lead front-line clinical research in our field.
EPIC-SEC 2019 is expected to have continued growth and up to 600 participants. The conference format includes ample opportunities for close interaction between industry colleagues, faculty, and participants for networking, clinical interchange and development of clinical research protocols. We believe EPIC-SEC is a major educational course with focus on practical, guideline-based, and innovative care in cardiovascular disease in the United States.
