Carlo N. De Cecco, MD, PhD (Rome, Italy 1981) is an Associate Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Informatics at Emory University. A native of Italy, Dr. De Cecco graduated from the medical school of Sapienza University in Rome in 2006, and in 2011 he completed his residency in Radiology at the same University. He joined the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in 2013 as Research Assistant Professor of Radiology and director of the Cardiac CT research. In 2015 he received is PhD degree in Translational Imaging from the Sapienza University. In 2016 he completed a clinical fellowship in cardiothoracic imaging and in 2018 a clinical fellowship in nuclear medicine at MUSC. His main scientific interest is functional cardiac imaging, including myocardial CT perfusion and CT-FFR, and AI/ML applications. He is associate editor for JCCT, and he serves as the AI/ML section editor for EJR. He is a member of the Board of Experts of the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research, and he is actually serving as chair of the cardiac panel at the American College of Radiology - Data Science Institute (ACR-DSI).
