Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program Director

Dr. Rajan Patel, MD FACC FAHA FSCAI is the program director of the interventional cardiology fellowship program at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. He is a graduate of Stanford University Medical School. He completed the tradiational, categorical internal medicine residency program at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He completed fellowships in cardiovascular medicine, advanced cardiac imaging, and interventional cardiology at the University of Virginia. He subesequently completed a fellowship in endovascular/ peripheral intervention at Ochsner Medical Center. Dr. Patel's clinical practice focuses on the percutanous treatment of complex coronary artery diease including CTO's as well as peripheral artery disease. He also collaborates with the Ochsner Medical Center advanced heart failure and cardiothoracic surgery teams in providing cardiogenic shock patients with percutaneous mechanical circulatory support. His research interests include the use of cardiac imaging to improve the outcomes during percutanous cardiovascular procedures and device/ procedure development.
