Dr. Clay Chappell serves as Medical director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, GA. Dr. Chappell received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology at Emory.
Dr. Chappell is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. He also holds certification in Nuclear Cardiology, Vascular Imaging, and Endovascular Medicine. Dr. Chappell also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor for the Medical College of Georgia/University of Georgia Medical Partnership.
