Senior Clinical Speech Language Pathologist

Abygail Marx, MS, CCC-SLP has worked as a Speech Language Pathologist and Augmentative Communication Specialist at the Waisman Center (University of Wisconsin - Madison) since 2011. She provides both outpatient and inpatient specialized AAC evaluation and treatment in the Communication Aids & Systems Clinic (CASC). She also serves as the CASC Clinic Coordinator, completing triage of referrals, waiting list management, and coordination with other Waisman Center clinics. She is a member of the Cerebral Palsy Interdisciplinary Care Clinic, providing in-depth developmental assessment, education, and consultation around AAC needs of children with CP and their families. Abby leads the Communication Development Program (CDP) which is a community-based outreach, training, and consultation program for families and teams which focuses on supporting implementation of AAC systems in natural environments.
During the Spring of 2019, Abby was an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, teaching the first-year graduate course, CS&D 705: Motor Speech Disorders and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Abby received her Bachelors and Masters degrees at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During graduate school, she also completed additional training through the Leadership in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program, which focuses on specialized training in interdisciplinary clinical work, research, outreach, and family-centered care for individuals with developmental disabilities and neurodegenerative diseases, and their families. Abby is also currently participating in the ASHA Leadership Development Program (LDP).
