National Director of Outcomes and Reimbursement
Bill Goulding, MS, CCC-SLP is the National Director of Outcomes and Reimbursement for Aegis Therapies. He has been involved in selecting, training, overseeing and utilizing clinical outcome measures for treatments provided to approximately 20,000 patients every month across 42 states. As a result, Aegis has collected over 8 million functional outcomes since 1999.
He has been presenting our outcomes-based findings in state and national forums for over 15 years, including the American Health Care Association (AHCA), Leading Age, the National Association for the Support of Long-Term Care (NASL), the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA), the American Geriatric Society (AGS), the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Topics have included: “The Role of Outcomes Measurement in Post Acute Care (PAC)”, “How Outcomes Can Enhance Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI)”, “The Efficacy of Skilled Therapy Delivered by Therapists vs. Assistants” and “Outcomes of Dysphagia Treatment in Nursing Home Residents with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Parkinson’s and Stroke”.
In 2012, he authored a chapter on outcomes in long-term care in a graduate-level textbook that was published by Thieme Medical Publishers, entitled “Outcomes in Speech-Language Pathology: Contemporary Theories, Models and Practices”.
Most recently, he participated in a 4-year process under the direction of Dr. David Gifford and the American Health Care Association (AHCA) that resulted in an endorsement from the National Quality Forum (NQF) for two functional measures, Mobility (NQF #2612) and Self-Care (NQF #2613).
