The Illinois Early Intervention Training Program has approved this in-person session for 0.5 hours of EI credential credit in the area of Assessment, 0.5 hours in the area of Intervention, and 1 hour in the area of Atypical Development.
This session will provide an overview of how prenatal alcohol abuse changes the structure and function of the developing brain. The speaker will provide suggestions for recognizing the signs of alcohol-related speech-language deficits in children of varying ages as well as describe best practices in speech-language and literacy assessment and intervention for children with fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.
