SLPs are seeing more and more children with histories of trauma, ranging from child abuse and neglect to exposure to domestic and community violence. Children exposed to trauma show a range of behavioral problems and developmental delays, but some children show surprising resilience. This session will explore ways to assess and treat children who have been affected by trauma to focus on their strengths and avoid their most challenging behaviors.
