David Wolinsky MD FACC MASNC Biography
Dr. Wolinsky joined the staff at Cleveland Clinic Florida in 2011. He is presently Section Head of nuclear cardiology and Medical Director of cardiac rehabilitation. He also is Director of the Cleveland Clinic Cardiac Amyloid Center.
He received his undergraduate and M.D. degrees from Columbia University. Following 11 years at St. Luke’s HospitaljoinedAlbany Associates in Cardiology in Albany, New York in 1989 where he where he was nuclear cardiology until 2011. Additionally he was medical director of the heart failure program and director of Cardiac Rehabilitation and Wellness at St. Peter’s Hospital.
Dr. Wolinsky is Past President of the American Society Nuclear Cardiology.. He was lead author of the 2011 ASNC model LCD for payment and appropriate utilization of nuclear cardiology procedures. He presently serves as Chair of the ASNC Health Policy Committee . He is focused on optimizing the utilization of noninvasive imaging to provide maximal value in the modern healthcare paradigm. He is Chair of the task force that has developed Refer Wisely, joint initiative of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the American College of Physicians to provide education regarding the appropriate use of diagnostic imaging with a specific focus on the appropriate use of myocardial perfusion imaging
In August 2018, he was appointed Chair of the Third Party Payer and Health Care Economics Committee of the Florida Chapter of the American College of Cardiology.
