Mrs. Stallings attended the University of California, San Diego and in 1997 received a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Biology. She later attended Western University of Health Sciences, College of Allied Health in Pomona, California, where she received a Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2002. She has been a board certified physician assistant, licensed in the state of California since October 2002. In addition she is a Certified Diabetes Educator, Certified Diabetes Technology Clinician and an insulin pump trainer. She previously worked in the Clinical Research Department at the VA San Diego under the guidance of Drs. Robert Henry and Sunder Mudaliar, and was a Sub-investigator for ACTOS NOW, a major study in the prevention of type 2 diabetes. She has worked at Diabetes and Endocrine Associates for 16 years, treating adults with diabetes and other endocrine diseases. More recently she joined the UCSD Department of Endocrinology assisting with inpatient and outpatient diabetes management as well as coordinating with the UCSD Population Health Team to develop a Diabetes Prevention Program for the UCSD Health System. She has a special interest in patient empowerment through education. She has volunteered for the not-for-profit organizations Taking Control of Your Diabetes, Riding On Insulin and ADA Camp Wana Kura.
