Per Fink started The Research Clinic for Functional Disorders at Aarhus University Hospital 20 years ago. The clinic takes an interdisciplinary approach to functional disorders and focuses primarily on research in functional somatic symptoms and syndromes and health anxiety as well as development and testing of new treatments.
Another area of special focus is classification, and Per Fink has developed research criteria for both Bodily Distress Syndrome and Health Anxiety.
Per Fink has vast experience with teaching at all levels as well as an extensive publication list primarily with focus on functional somatic symptoms and syndromes.
Per Fink has won several prizes comprising: The Clinical Research Award, Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine (APM) in 2006; award for Innovation and Excellence in Psychosomatic Medicine Education, APM, 2007; BMA Medical Book Award for Medically unexplained symptoms, somatisation and bodily distress: Developing better clinical services, 2012;
Dlin/Fischer Clinical Research Award, APM, 2013; The Alison Creed Award for outstanding contribution to research in the field of psychosomatic medicine, European Association of Psychosomatic Medicine, 2017.
