MS Medical Director, Multnomah County, Oregon (including Cities of Portland and Gresham)
Jonathan Jui MD, MPH, a Professor of Emergency Medicine at Oregon Health & Sciences University, is the EMS Medical Director overseeing >1,100 providers for Portland Fire & Rescue (since 1989), Multnomah County EMS (since 1995) and the Oregon State Police. As medical director for the U.S. Region 6 Forest Service Incident Medical Specialist program, his teams provide support to wildland firefighters across the much of the western U.S. With a strong research interest in resuscitation, he is a site Principal Investigator of the Oregon Sudden Unexpected Death Study (SUDS). A Master of Public Health in Epidemiology, he is also Board-Certified in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease and EMS. He and colleagues at Oregon SUDS have co-authored >50 publications on sudden cardiac death and he serves as Site Investigator for the CDC Emergency ID Net comprised of 11 high-volume (geographically diverse) emergency departments that study a wide range of infectious diseases.
