Pam has worked in the NICU at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital of Oakland for just under 44 years since Oct. 1975.. She has been an RN III since 1991. She has performed as a PICC Inserter since 1991. Amongst many of her passions surrounding quality care delivery has been directed towards PICC care in the NICU with ongoing staff education in the proper assessment and safety maintenance of the Neonatal PICC. She is the author of the the NICU based PICC Dressing Procedure and mentors staff members in PICC Insertion as well as probelm solving PICC complications. She has developed the NICU PICC Dressing Superuser team. Since 2016 she has been a key motivator in developing a strong collaboration between the the hospital wide Vascular Access Team and the NICU PICC Insertion Team. Pam has served as a hospital wide CLABSI Prevention Rsource Nurse since 2016.
