This course will give a brief overview of urodynamic technique, but will focus on the interpretation of UDS traces, and the role of UDS in the management of the different patient groups, including those with neurogenic voiding dysfunction, those with bladder outlet obstruction, those with detrusor overactivity and underactivity, and those with urinary incontinence. Participants will become comfortable interpreting uroflowmetry, post void residual urine measurement, complex cystometry, leak point pressure, pressure flow studies. Participants will learn the important differences in urodynamic techniques when studying a woman with urinary incontinence versus a man with LUTS associated with BPH. Participants will understand the indications for testing and abnormal findings in patients with neurogenic voiding dysfunction. Lastly, course participants will learn the common pitfalls encountered during interpretation of UDS traces.
