Samuel G Taylor III Professor of Oncology and Chief, Division of Hematology/Onco
Dr. Timothy M Kuzel is the Samuel G. Taylor III Professor of Oncology, and Chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology/Cell therapy at Rush University Medical School in Chicago IL, and is the Deputy Directory of the Cancer Center. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan in 1984. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine, as well as a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Northwestern University. He is board certified in internal medicine, hematology, and oncology.
Dr. Kuzel was on the faculty of Northwestern University from 1990 thru 2016 achieving status of full professor. While there he directed the GU and Cutaneous Oncology Programs for over 25 years. He has had a long interest in developing novel experimental therapeutic approaches to the diseases in the programs, and was the Director of the Driskill Immunotherapy Research Program at Northwestern University, a program focused on developing novel laboratory and clinical approaches for immunology based treatments of prostate cancer.
Dr. Kuzel has received the American Cancer Society Clinical Oncology Career Development Award and has been frequently listed as one of Chicago’s Best Doctors. He has authored or co-authored over 250 journal articles, editorials, and book chapters and has edited several textbooks, many of these regarding novel approaches to the treatment of prostate cancer.
