This course will teach the urologist and the advanced practice provider how to manage women with desire, arousal, orgasm pain and PGAD issues, including how to use the latest FDA approved drugs and CO2 fractional lasers. Women with distressing sexual health concerns need to undergo biopsychosoocial diagnostic evaluations to assess pathophysiology. This course will explore normal physiology, pathophysiology, and treatment options, including FDA approved, off label, device and surgical therapies. This will include a risk benefit discussion of hormone therapy for pre- and post-menopausal women, as well as information about neurologic issues. Also discussed are risk factors for female sexual dysfunction and co-morbid conditions such as genitourinary syndrome of menopause, interstitial cystitis and sexual dysfunction, clitoral phimosis and previous genital surgeries including mid-urethral surgical slings.
