Instructional Course - Requires Course Pass or Individual Course Ticket, Additional Registration Required
Devoted exclusively to robotic urologic surgery, this is a comprehensive technique-centered "how-to" course. The entire focus is on video-based technical nuances, and only highly relevant data will be presented. The course is geared towards demonstrating basics for intermediate level surgeons, as well as subtleties for the experienced surgeon. The focus will be on step-by-step demonstration of the robotic urologic surgeries that can be utilized in challenging scenarios, including prostate cancer recurrence (salvage lymphadenectomy, excision of pelvic masses), ureteral strictures after urinary diversions, urinary diversion conversion, parastomal hernia repair, urinary fistula repair after pelvic surgery. Video demonstrations of novel, high-end, and emerging techniques will appeal to the experienced surgeon. In addition, video clips of a wide variety of robotic complications will be shown and strategies for prevention and management of these complications will be discussed. This is being designed as a highly interactive course and the participant will engage in discussions akin to being in these surgeons' operating rooms. Participants will have an opportunity to share their own tips and tricks as well as discuss their problem areas with the course faculty as well as other participants in a structured format. At the end of the course, participants will be provided a link for download, which will include detailed step-by-step demonstration of complex urologic robotic procedures. All course content will also be translated into Spanish, Chinese and Portuguese at the time of the course.
