This instructional course is intended to be presented in Spanish and the main objective is to review common complex situations during endourological procedures (ureteroscopy, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, ureterotomy, shockwave lithotripsy, percutaneous bladder stone removal). We plan to describe those situations, the possible outcomes and the best way to prevent complications. A special emphasis in the solution of those demanding cases is expected. We propose lectures with review of the current literature and evidence, audiovisual support and open discussion with all the participants.

 

Learning Objectives:

• Describe, interpret and recognize intraoperative situations that may impact the surgical outcomes in complex endourological procedures
• Discuss and develop a step-wise approach directed to the resolution of intraoperative complications
• Integrate preoperative and intraoperative characteristics linked with unwished surgical outcomes in order to decrease the possibilities of complications
• Share personal experiences in the topic to promote an open debate and integrate the best surgical strategies to solve those ¨nightmare cases¨
