Dr. Kerry will discuss the critical links between health and the global economy, national security and society's ability to thrive. She will review the evolving global burden of disease and the deep challenges to addressing that disease including a critical lack of human resources to serve on the front lines of healthcare. Making links between the global and domestic setting, Dr. Kerry will highlight the opportunities to addressing these challenges.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this live activity, attendees should be able to do the following (ex. apply, demonstrate, determine, develop, predict):

1. Analyze the evolving global burden of disease and its heterogeneity across
settings
2. Describe the impact of the rising non-communicable disease burden globally
including malignancy
3. Describe the central challenges to training health professionals in resource
limited countries and the need for training local health professional capacity
