Biography:
Dr. A Bapsi Chakravarthy, MD, FASTRO is Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. She specializes in treating cancers of the breast and gastrointestinal tract. As a busy clinician with a strong interest in applied science, she collaborates with basic scientists and imaging scientists to learn better ways of treating cancers. She works with multidisciplinary teams to design the next generation of cancer clinical trials that will apply the knowledge learned in our laboratories to the care of our patients. On a national level, she serves as Chair of the Radiation Oncology Committee of ECOG-ACRIN, a member of the GI Steering Committee as well as a member of the NCI-Rectal Working Group.
