This session is aiming to update the radiation oncologists on most modern and advanced radiation techniques in lymphoma radiotherapy considering different anatomical sites which require different solutions.
For mediastinal radiotherapy IMRT can be used in a way that avoids low-dose bath in young individuals to minimise late effects e.g. Butterfly IMRT or VMAT. Discussion will also include which patients benefit most from the use of breathing control techniques (e.g. DIBH) and which cases may benefit from protons. Combination of such techniques will also be discussed.
For abdominal RT, some sites (e.g. Stomach) may benefit from breathing control techniques. Careful IMRT planning can minimise OARs doses like the kidneys. Problems with moving targets (e.g. mesenteric masses) will be addressed with discussion of the use of IGRT in these cases.
Other sites which require careful choice and application of advanced RT techniques include primary CNS lymphoma, head and neck lymphoma and solitary plasmacytoma in various sites.
