4:45 PM - 6:00 PM
Location: Room W196

Session Type: Special Session
1.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™

This session will review the guidance from the new ASTRO guideline on basal and squamous cell skin cancer and consensus papers on normal tissue contouring and the recommended minimum data elements required in radiation oncology.

The guideline includes recommendations for cutaneous BCC and SCC skin cancer on definitive and post-operative radiation therapy. It discusses preferred techniques and dose-fractionation schedules as well as the appropriate use of systemic agents, including immunotherapy, with radiation in the neoadjuvant, adjuvant, and concurrent settings.

Second, the session will discuss the conclusions of the consensus paper on contouring. This guidance aims to improve the consistency of contouring OARs in external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) treatment planning by providing a single standardized resource for information regarding specific OARs to be contoured for each disease site. ?

Finally, the consensus paper on minimum data element will be presented and include a recommendation on the minimum data elements required for radiation oncology, focused on registry data, EHR data transfer, clinical trials and quality measurement.
