This session will discuss current clinical scenarios in head and neck cancer with an expert panel discussing decision points within the setting of a patient case but then expanding to include audience responses, the panel's opinion, recent clinical data and current guidelines. The session will be 75 minutes in length with three case presentations of 20 minutes each with 15 minutes at the end for panel questions. The cases will be HPV positive oropharynx cancer, oral cavity cancer, and re-irradiation in head and neck cancer.

Learning Objectives:

Analyze current clinical data and understand evolving approaches to care in these difficult head and neck caner patients
Develop a vision for new processes and approaches for application in the clinic

Biography:
Tom Boike MD, MMM currently works with MHP Radiaiton Oncology Institute in the Greater Detroit Area. He is a Michigan native who earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his MD from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He was Chief Resident at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. He has had academic appointments at the University of Texas Southwestern where he was an Assistant Professor and more recently at Wayne State University as an Adjunct Assistant Professor. Before joining the MHP Radiation Oncology Institute in the Detroit Area, Dr. Boike served as the Network Medical Director for the Karmanos Cancer Institute across the state of Michigan overseeing oncology quality. Dr. Boike has completed a term on the executive committee for the Michigan Radiation Oncology Quality Consortium. He has helped further national quality efforts by serving on ASTRO’s APEx Committee and as a radiation oncology practice surveyor for APEx.
